Ross A. Hauser, M.D. – Editor in Chief |

|
Ross Hauser, MD graduated from University of Illinois
at Champaign-Urbana, followed by completion of
medical school training at University of Illinois
College of Medicine at Chicago where he graduated
with his M.D. He completed his internship and residency
training at Loyola-Hines VA-Marianjoy Hospitals
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. During
his one month chronic pain rotation, he realized
that he wanted to specialize in chronic pain, specifically
to help patients get rid of their pain, not just
mask their pain.
Through the grace of God, Dr. Hauser was led to
join the Prolotherapy practice of Gustav Hemwall,
M.D. in Oak Park, IL back in 1993. Please read
the dedication on this website—he truly was a remarkable
man. The Journal of Prolotherapy is one of Dr.
Hauser’s passions and it is his hope that it will
allow many people to get the help that they need
to be cured of their chronic pain as Dr. Hemwall
would have wanted. |
Since 1993, doing full time Prolotherapy
at Caring Medical & Rehabilitation
Services, Dr. Hauser co-wrote seven books on Prolotherapy
with his wife, Marion, including Prolo
Your Pain Away!, Third Edition, Prolo
Your Sports Injuries Away! and Prolotherapy,
an Alternative to Knee Surgery. In 2001, after the
release of Prolo Your Sports Injuries Away!,
Dr. Hauser found himself burned out and out of shape
from working all day and writing/editing all night. He
started exercising which helped him lose almost 30 pounds
and go on to complete multiple marathons and ultramarathons,
until a stress fracture stopped him from running. Not
wanting to lose his physical fitness, he learned to swim
and started cycling. He finished his first Ironman Triathlon
in 2004, and as of August 2008, he has completed five
Ironman Triathlons. Because of all of the training, he
himself became a Prolotherapy patient. One of the reasons
he wanted to be involved in the Journal of Prolotherapy
is because he himself has suffered from a wide array
of sports and overuse injuries that were cured with Prolotherapy,
including, but not limited to the following:
| Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy |
Shoulder Labral Tear |
Cervical Radiculopathy |
| Thumb Arthritis |
Tennis Elbow |
Chondromalacia |
| Weak Ankles |
Ankle Ligament Injury |
Neck Degenerative Arthritis |
| Sacroiliac Pain |
Morton's Neuroma |
Metatarsalgia |
| Slipping Rib Syndrome |
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction |
Pubic Symphysis Diasthesis |
| TMJ Syndrome |
Lower Back Degeneration |
...a host of others |
Dr. Hauser is excited to be your Editor In Chief and
looks forward to hearing from you. |
