Hawaii to Host International Neural Prolotherapy Medical Conference. While world leaders from around the Pacific wrap up the 2011 APEC meetings on Oahu, the Big Island will host another significant international event as sixty physicians from around the world will congregate for a medical conference focusing on Neural Prolotherapy, November 11-13, 2011 at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. Dr. Liza Smigel, a physiatrist in is organizing hands on workshop weekend event featuring Dr. John Lyftogt of New Zealand. The conference will include academicians, current and past presidents of medical associations from South Korea, Australia, Mexico, Italy, Hong Kong, and the United States. Dr. Lyftogt has advanced Neural Prolotherapy to treat neuropathic pain and other diseases. By using D5W (Dextrose 5% in sterile water) in subcutaneous near nerve injections, he discovered the antinocipetive and antineurogenic inflammatory effect of D5W, producing immediate and lasting (4 days) complete analgesia of chronic neuropathic pain. With repeated treatments, it has a cumulative effect, resulting in cure of pain. Neurogenic Inflammation is now considered to be the etiological factor in a large number of diseases including OA and RA.

Most recent research now shows evidence that Immune Reaction is under the control of the Neurological System All inflammation tarts with neurogenic inflammation if you want to change the immune response, you have to control neurogenic inflammation. These treatments are effective, harmless and economical. They are based on the latest developments in the neurosciences and understanding of the neurobiology of the Peripheral Nervous System.

“Having Dr. Lyftogt lead this conference here in Waikoloa makes this a major event among doctors who treat pain. Neural Prolotherapy is a breakthrough for the future of medicine,” says Dr. Smigel. The importance of this meeting is evidenced by the attendance of doctors from 8 different countries.
